Streaming Real World Events into

Second Life

If you are holding a conference, seminar or any other event the video of this can be streamed into Second Life® allowing a global audience to attend and participate. This is an excellent way of expanding your audience.

The Second Life® audience are able to sit in a virtual auditorium and watch the event as it happens. They see two screens, one showing the live video, the other showing presentation slides that the speaker uses. They are able to talk with others who are attending virtually as well as ask questions of the speakers in the same way as the audience at the real world event.

You can also show the virtual audience on a screen in the real world so that people attending the event are aware of your virtual audience.

This is a particularly good way of ensuring that your event is accessible to people with disabilities. Ramps and lifts are helpful in making venues more accessible, but they don't help people who have difficulty getting to your venue due to their disability. By streaming your event into Second Life®, those people can access and participate in the event from their computer.

We are able to organise this from start to finish, ensuring that the virtual attendance option is publicised, that speakers' slides are uploaded to Second Life® and that your vitual audience is assisted to get the most from their experience. We also take their questions and relay those to speakers when they take questions at the end of their talk.

To stream your event into Second Life®, you will need a reasonable sound system (microphones for speakers etc) and a good speed Internet connection (5mbps Minimum) which allows at least two wired connections. This should not be shared wirelessly with others at your venue, it needs to be a dedicated connection unless it is very fast. We provide everything else you will need.
